Arty Activity Volunteer – New Directions, Horwich
The Purpose: New Directions offers a person centred service to adults, and delivers a wide range of creative and vocational activities. Volunteers are a key part of the staff team and, through clear tasking by a supervisor, provide vital support in helping service users enjoy the activities together.
The Purpose: New Directions offers a person centred service to adults, and delivers a wide range of creative and vocational activities. Volunteers are a key part of the staff team and, through clear tasking by a supervisor, provide vital support in helping service users enjoy the activities together.
The Role: Supporting the staff to deliver a variety of activities including arts and crafts to adults with disabilities and learning difficulties, contributing to the programme with ideas and evaluation, occasionally planning and leading activities as part of the sessions, upholding Together Trust’s values and policies and procedures.
The Person: Must be reliable, patient and understanding and adaptable to young people with varying needs.
Must be energetic and enthusiastic but able to deal with situations in a calm and mature way. Particular skills and interests for activities welcome, especially but not exclusively arts and crafts.
